Montana Spring

Whoops, it's been a while since I've updated! Nothing too exciting has been happening. Just working! Anyway, here is an update... in pictures!

I attended my first conference earlier this spring at the Asilomar conference grounds, in Monterrey, California. It was right on the beach and a lot of fun, I learned so much!

right on the beach... the water was so cold!

My parents came up this spring to hang out with me. Well, my mom came to see me. My dad, as should come to no surprise to those who know him, came for the fishing...

 He did pretty well, too.

I'm currently in an animal class. As a scientist, I need to know the basics of animal care. Although the class can be a bit of a bore some days, other days I learn quite a bit and it can be fun. The other day, we learned how to suture. I was a natural. I think it comes from the fact that my grandmother taught me how to sew when I was younger. See how well I did?

The patient...
 All better!

Gotta love Montana. This is the view from one of my windows at work. I love that there are windows here...

Of course, Texas is pretty awesome, too. Check out the pictures of my backyard that I took ages and ages ago.... Makes me miss home...

I added a new member to my family. His name was Sunshine, since he was yellow, but he really just goes by Mr. Fishy.

And this is the most interested London paid to Mr. Fishy the whole time he's been here.

London has been keeping busy with other stuff. One day I came home and he wasn't there to greet me. He's always there when I come home. When I called his name, he never made a sound. Usually I can hear the bell around his neck, so I know where he is, but I didn't hear a thing. By now, I was getting a little worried. But obviously I shouldn't have been so upset. He was just chillin' on the bed. He actually had the nerve to look annoyed when I found him!

When my parents came to visit, I got a new couch! The one I had was getting a little tattered. I really like my new one. I think the kitten does as well...

Of course, I think he just likes any comfy surface. He has taken up residence on my bed. Usually, he gets about 3/4 of the bed, while I'm left hanging on to the other 1/4. Methinks my cat is a little too spoiled...

It's been a lovely spring so far. I've been working, and will continue to work a lot until my comps are done this fall. Biggest test of my life. I'm completely nervous and starting to freak out a bit. But I do plan on getting out and enjoying the beautiful Montana weather this season. Can't wait!

And with that, there's your update on the Thoughts of Amy G!
