writing writing writing....

Write a blog, or write my thesis? I guess we know which one won out. Working on my thesis sometimes makes me feel like I know nothing. Makes me question why I decided on this line of work. Hopefully I'll remember that reason when I finish it. I told my boss on Friday that I would give him something so he can read it on Monday. But I haven't been sleeping well, so all I want to do right now is sleep, or watch tv in a stupor, NOT work on a paper. sigh... It doesn't help that somehow I am scheduled to run an experiment everyday this week. Can I just skip this week? Time jump to next week? If only, if only...

Today I did something random. I planted some flowers. I guess the real experiment is how long I can keep them alive. I don't mean to, but I can kill plant like thing. I'm sure it's a talent, but not one I really want to have. But I decided to plant some seeds today, and I guess we'll see what happens.

Okay, back to writing. Kill me now...

Montana, thesis writing, TXK, and tattoos!

I did it! I officially accepted my invitation to achieve my PhD at Montana State University. It's one of those things where I'm scared to death but at the same time incredibly exited. I can't wait. What an adventure!!! And the labs were simply amazing!

In other news, I'm attempting to write my thesis. I need to get enough of it written so my mentor will approve and then I can talk to my committee and set a defense date and get the form turned in a month before my defend date then finish my thesis and give my completed thesis to my committee two weeks before I defend and fill out the rest of the paperwork. Sound confusing? Yeah, I'm a little lost too, and I have to do it all!

My cat is totally and completely the cutest thing ever! Enough said. (see below)

Last week, I managed to make it home to Texarkana for a few days for 'spring break'. My spring break consisted only of cancellation of classes on Thursday and Friday, but since my boss was out of town, my whole lab took off. Sneaky, I know. The best part was, my brother and sister were home also! I haven't seen my brother since Christmas! He still looks the same, but that's beside the point. We ended up hanging out on Friday, something we haven't done in AGES!!! We saw a movie, played Mario Party on Wii, and took a trip to the high school to see the new stadium. Wow, being in that place made me feel so old! The new stadium is really cool looking! They have nice seats, turf, and the area surrounding it is beautiful. And we were lucky enough to be able to take a sneak peak of the new basketball gym that isn't open yet. It's amazing! The court is built into the ground, and on the second level, where the concession stand is, is a glass wall that looks down onto the court, with tables and chairs set up for people to hang out. It was awesome. And I'm also a little jealous. Those kids don't understand how nice they have it now-a-days.

Today, I got a henna tattoo. It's pretty cool! It was for a fundraiser, and some really cool girls painted it on for me. And I have to admit I really like it! I hope it lasts... it's a little less permenant than my other REAL tattoo...

Hmm... what else is up in the life of amyg? I guess that's it, for this post at least! Until the next time!

The corner of my bed he sleeps on. This picture was taken in the winter. How do I know? Because that quilt of my grade school t-shirts is only on my bed when it's cold. I love my quilt, one of the two my grandmother helped me make one summer in undergrad. I had so many band shirts, that I started out with those, and that quilt is on my bed at home in TXK. This one is all the other t-shirts from Pleasant Grove that I collected over the years and don't still wear. I plan on making a quilt from my college shirts eventually, but at the current time, I still wear those. :)

And what my kitten usually does, when I'm not paying attention to him. He crawls up into my lap and drops himself there, usually on my laptop or in the way of my book. Can you tell he doesn't get much attention? Spoiled kitten... but still my baby!
