Hey all!
Wow, it's been awhile! I guess we should play a little bit of catch up.
First and foremost.... I passed my defense! I am now Dr. AmyG!
It was such a hard journey, but I'm so happy that I stuck with it! I couldn't have done it without my family and friends.
What else have I been up to?
Well, enjoying life, of course!
I finally got a dog, Maddie (short for Madison. As in the Madison River, my favorite river). She has definitely been a handful, especially when she had a health scare, but I cannot imagine my life without her!
She definitely liked playing in the garden
We did dog training, and it helped both of us. She loved it, even in the picture doesn't exactly show it...
She LOVED the snow! We'll definitely miss it!
After the first health time in the vet ER. She had to go back that evening. No explanations on what caused it, but thankfully we are happy and healthy now!
She's such a happy puppy!
Her first birthday!
Graduating with a PhD was amazing. A ton of my family traveled all the way up to Montana to see me walk across the stage and receive a diploma. And afterwards, my parents threw an amazing party where all my friends joined. It was one of the best times in my life.
My lovely momma and I!
My mentor throughout graduate school.
Some of the people who got me through graduate school. They helped me through the hard times, the stressful times, the good times, the GREAT times, and everything in between!
One of my favorite pictures. Three generations of sisters!
I will always love Bozeman, and I'm extremely thankful I will always be able to go back and visit. So many great memories were made those 5 years I was there.
Snowshoeing up one of our favorite trails
At one of our favorite breweries
Some of the kids I babysit. Going to miss watching them grow up!
Partying it up after my defense.
I actually won something, at another favorite brewery!
A random spring storm dumped a ton of snow, so my window got pelted
I built a snowman!
Maddie loved going snowshoeing with us!
Halloween!
Lovely view from the deck.
Goofing off with co-workers
Definitely going to miss the fun times!
Two of the people who mentored me.
After graduation, I moved to Oklahoma to continue my training. I joined a great lab at the medical center and I'm continuing working on studying the immune response to infectious diseases. My labmates and those I work with are pretty cool, and I'm learning a lot.
We participated in 'Wacky Games' to support the United Way
The Thunder Girls were there! lol
As for Oklahoma City? It's so much more than I remembered! There is so much to do here! And such great food!
Amazing food!
My Uncle Jack!
Manda came up to see one of our favorite bands play and explore OKC
The skyline of OKC
The crazy weather of Oklahoma
Funnily enough, an old friend from where I got my Masters came up for her job, so we got to hang out!
We hung out at the Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum over Labor Day
I've met many new friends! It's been fun exploring!
OKC Bombing Memorial
I found a pretty awesome spot to eat lunch outside
I think London, Maddie, and I are doing just fine. Here's to the next adventures in life!
She loves to make sure I get up on the weekends so we can go to the dog park early. Funnily enough, she loves to sleep in on weekdays...
She did so great at trivia night!
They love my new bed...
I think I'm doing just fine...
